MenheraEdit

Menhera(メ ン ヘ ラ) is a Japanese slang for mentally unstable people. derived from gurokawa

Grotesque yet cute, characters with double personality the opposite of what they seem on the outside.

This is not related to mental illness but related to the mask that people use in their daily life in order to fit in with what's right in society.

Which can lead to mental health problems doing the character breaks his facade at some point and fall into an extreme version of your wishes. (As Nishikinomiya Anna Shimoneta)

Similar to Yandere characters.

In early 2014 the term became very popular menhera-chan used as a satire on some sleeves, in which some magical girls have to kill himself to use his magic and save the world.

(Which they did not want to do) is a reference to the pressure of society fit for the system to continue, especially in Japanese society so many commit suicide.

As a fashion, Menhera is more an issue than anything else and depends more on clothing accessories, something not very common in some styles. It was popularized by the artist and fashion designer Kuua Oyasumi who is in charge of many designs for indie brands.

Overall it is based on dreamy, tender with a touch of illness (病 み か わ い い) which refers to the combination of clothing kawaii accessories related to mental health or some sexual themes, usually on clothing can be spotted prints about sexual freedom and

against the pressure there by society as mentioned above, teaching Japanese society the horrible truth behind her kawaii facade.
